Koratala Siva, who earlier written and directed films like Mirchi (2013), Srimanthudu (2015), Janatha Garage (2016), and Bharat Ane Nenu (2018); has written and directed Acharya.

Niranjan Reddy and Anvesh Reddy are the Producers, and Mani Sharma is the Music Composer of Acharya.

Tirru (S. Thirunavukarasu) is the Cinematographer, and Naveen Nooli is the Film Editor of Acharya.

Cast

The father-son duo Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan are there in the lead roles. Pooja Hegde and Kajal Aggarwal have played the female lead roles in Acharya.

Sonu Sood and Jisshu Sengupta have played pivotal roles in the film. Vennela Kishore, Saurav Lokesh, Posani Krishna Murali, Tanikella Bharani, Ajay, Kishore, Sangeetha, Nassar, and Banerjee have played supporting roles in Acharya.

Regina Cassandra is there in Acharya in a special appearance as Mandakini in the item song Saana Kastam.

Movie Plot

The story of Acharya (Chiranjeevi) revolves around a middle-aged Naxalite-turned-social reformer. He launches a fight against the Endowments Department over the misappropriation of temple funds and donations.

A strong buzz is there that the film takes inspiration from the life of Subbarao Panigraha. Getting into the details, Subbarao hailed from Orissa but settled in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, where he worked as a temple priest.

The priest was against the irregularities being operated under the temple system by the zamindars. To fight against them, he forms a team with another Nexalites-turned-social-reformer (Ram Charan).

The makers have not revealed the story but Strong buzz has it that Koratala Siva took his inspiration from the book and made suitable changes for Acharya.
