Ahaan (2021) [ Hindi Movie ]

Ahaan is a 2019 Hindi Comedy Drama film that initially premiered at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne in August 2019. The film was released theatrically in India on 19 March 2021. Ahaan started streaming on the OTT platform Netflix on 15 May 2021.

First-time director Nikhil Pherwani has written and directed Ahaan. Saket Gyani and Dipankar Sikder are the Cinematographers, and Dhruv Dhalla is the Music Director of Ahaan.

Cast

Abuli Mamaji, Arif Zakaria, and Niharika Singh have played lead roles in the movie. Plabita Borthakur, Rajit Kapur, Shilpa Mehta, Kaizaad Kotwaal, Sonali Sachdev, and Haresh Raut have played supporting roles in Ahaan.

Movie Plot

Ahaan(Abuli Mamaji) is in his mid-20s. His mother, Gayatri (Shilpa Metha), makes brownies and cookies at home, and Ahaan serves as a delivery boy.

Ahaan is a loveable young guy and can make friends easily. However, Ahaan has been suffering from Down Syndrome, and thus the boys in his neighborhood aren't too keen to let him play cricket with them. Moreover, not everybody he encounters warms up to him.

Anu (Niharika Singh) is the best customoer of Ahaan. She likes Ahaan and shares good quality time with him. On the other hand, Ozzy (Arif Zakaria), the husband of Anu, does not like Ahaan much.

Ozzy has been suffering from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and wants absolute cleanliness, especially at home. He, therefore, does not like the idea of entering the room wearing shoes by Ahaan.

One day while Ahaan comes to deliver cookies, Anu serves him Biryani. Ozzy enters the home, sees Ahaan eating on the Sofa, and lashes out at him. Ahaan leaves the house, and Anu as well because she has become sick of OCD problem of Ozzy.

Ozzy knows Anu shares a special bond with Ahaan that has developed over time. He finds Ahaan is the key to his way back to his wife's heart. Ozzy now starts making an amicable bond with Ahaan.
