Andaz (1971) is an Indian Bollywood Romantic Movie released on 30 April, 1971 (India). The movie was produced by G.P. Sippy and directed by Ramesh Sippy. Andaz (1971) was written by Gulzar with writer duo Salim-Javed who also wrote the screenplay of the movie alongwith Sachin Bhowmick. 

Andaz (1971) got commercial success and became Superhit on Box Office by earning Rs. 4 Crores and also became the Fifth Highest Grossing Bollywood Movie of 1971 after Haathi Mere Saathi, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Dushman and Maryada followed by Caravan, Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Amar Prem, Sharmilee and Mela.

Andaz (1971) stars Shammi Kapoor, Hema Malini and Rajesh Khanna in cameo. However, Rajesh Khanna was credited for turning the movie a hit as such his success was at peak during 1969 to 1971 whereas Shammi Kapoor’s career graph was not going well. Simmi Garewal, Ajit, Aruna Irani, Roopesh Kumar, David and Achala Sachdev played supporting roles in the movie.

Andaz is considered among the 17 consecutive hits of Rajesh Khanna by adding two Two-Hero Movies Maryada (1971) and Andaz (1971) to the 15 consecutive solo hits between the years 1969 to 1971.

Shankar-Jaikishan composed music for Andaz (1971) and lyrics were written by Hasrat Jaipuri. Together they created some melodious songs like Re Mama Re Mama Re, Hai Na Bolo Bolo, Dil Use Do Jo Jaan De De. One of the best known Bollywood yodels Zindgi Ek Safar Hai Suhana sung by Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar and Mohammed Rafi in three different versions. Kishore Kumar was nominated for Filmfare Best Male Playback Singer Award. However, the Award was won by Manna Dey for Ae Bhai Zara Dekh Ke Chalo from the movie Mera Naam Joker. Hasrat Jaipuri won the Filmfare Best Lyricist Award for the song Zindgi Ek Safar. 

Andaz (1971) Movie Plot: Raj (Rajesh Khanna) and Sheetal (Hema Malini) get married even after the vehement opposite from Raj’s Father. Raj was killed in an accidently leaving his pregnant wife. Later Sheetal’s Son Deepu and Muni Daughter of Ravi (Shammi Kapoor), a widower, becomes good friends and turn out to be the reason to meet Ravi and Sheetal. They eventually fall for each other and decide to marry. But this time they were opposed by Ravi’s Mother.   In the meantime a village girl commits suicide and integrity of Ravi came into question.   

Andaz (1971) is a Romantic Bollywood Hindi Movie released on April 30, 1971 and directed by Ramesh Sippy.  The movie was one of the biggest hits of 1971 and earned Rs. 4 Cr worldwide Box Office Collection. However, Rajesh Khanna played only a Cameo in the movie. Movies of Shammi Kapoor were not going well these days, hence, name of Rajesh Khanna was used to make the film superhit. Consequently this movie is also considered among the 17 consecutive Hit Film of Rajesh Khanna between 1969 to 1971.  The movie has a superhit songs ZINDGI EK SAFAR  HAI SUHANA which is considered one of the best Yodels of Bollywood. This song was also last recorded song of Jaikishan who was part of great Music Director Duo Shankar-Jaikishan. Further, this movie is first successful Script Writing of Writers Duo Salim-Javed (Salim Khan anad Javed Akhtar).
