Arzoo (1950) [meaning-Desire] is a Romantic Drama Hindi (Bollywood) film released on 16 June 1950. Not to be confused with Arzoo (1965) or Aarzoo (1999).

Baadal (Dilip Kumar) and Kammo (Kamini Kaushal) are grown together from childhood to adolescence. They start liking each other in due course of time and want to get married.
However, Baadal has nothing to do with his livelihood. And that is why Kammo's father (Kamlakar) does not like Baadal.
Kammo suggests Baadal find some work in the city area because the village does not have sufficient job opportunities. Baadal agrees with Kammo and decides to leave for the city the night while his family members are fast asleep.
While leaving home, one of his old relatives arrives. Baadal asks him to rest in the room and leave the village. Unfortunately, Baadal's house catches fire, and the elderly relative dies in the fire.
Baadal's family, villagers, and Kammo think that Baadal is dead as they do not know about the elderly relative.
In the meantime, Baadal reaches the city and joins the Indian Army. He returns to his village after some years. He is shocked to see that Kammo is now married to a wealthy Thakur.
Baadal feels deceived and plans to take revenge on Kammo. He befriends Thakur and starts alluring his young sister (Neelam). However, the situation takes a worse turn when Thakur comes to know about the past relationship of Baadal and Kammo.
Thakur now wants to kill Baadal. What happens next is the crux of the story.
Arzoo (1950) did well on the Box Office and earned an approximate net collection of Rs. 45 Lakh.
The film became the 9th Highest Grossing Bollywood film of 1950.
