Chatrapathi is a Hindi Action Drama film released on 12 May 2023. The film is a Hindi Remake of the 2005 Telugu movie Chatrapathi featuring Prabhas, Shriya Saran, and Bhanupriya. S.S. Rajamouli was the Director of Telugu film Chatrapathi.

Cast and Crew

Akshay Gada, Dhaval Gada, and Jayantilal Gada are the Producers, whereas V.V. Vinayak is the Director of Chatrapathi (Hindi remake).

Vijayendra Prasad, who was one of the Writers of the original Chatrapathi, is the Writer of the Hindi remake of Chatrapathi. Tanishk Bagchi is the Music Director, Ravi Basrur is the Background Scrorer, and Niranjan Devaramane is the Film Editor of Chatrapathi.

Cast

Bellamkonda Sreenivas plays the lead role in Chatrapathi and makes his Hindi acting debut. The film also features Nushrratt Bharuccha, Bhagyashree, Sharad Kelkar, Auroshikha Dey, Vedika Nawani, Swapnil Joshi, Swapnil Kiiran Kotriwar, Sahil Vaid, Monazir Khan, Rajendra Gupta, Karan Singh Chhabra, Amit Shivdas Nair, Anup Ingale, Shivam Patil, Ashish Singh, and Amit Shivdas Nair.

Movie Plot

After a calamity, young Sivaji loses his parents. Parvati (Bhagyashree ) adopts him as her son and nurtures him with equal affection as her biological son Ashok. However, Ashok feels jealous of Sivaji from the day his mother adopts Sivaji.

Parvati lives on the coast of Sri Lanka. One day a fire accident occurs on the sea coast. Ashok lies to his mother about the death of Sivaji and leaves the place with his mother.

Sivaji goes overboard and lands in Vizag. He starts an endless journey to find his mother, Paravati. On the other hand, Paravati never forgets Sivaji and arranges special rituals on the birthday of Sivaji.

A few years later

Gown-up Sivaji (Bellamkonda Sreenivas) works at Vizag port, dominated by Bhairav Solanki (Freddy Daruwala), who uses refugee labour for his gain with an iron fist.

Bhairav is the younger brother of a dreaded criminal, Bhawani Prasad (Sharad Kelkar), who operates from another Indian state. Sivaji raises his voice against Bhairav and finally kills him. People now start referring to Sivaji as Chatrapathi.

After killing Bhairav, Sivaji becomes the undisputed don of Vizag. Sapna (Nushrratt Bharuccha) is the love interest of Sivaji.

Twist in the story

Bhawani Prasad (Sharad Kelkar) learns about the killing of his brother Bhairav and visits Vizag to kill Ras Shivji. However, he fails to harm Sivaji. On a parallel track, Ashok (Karan Singh Chhabra) learns about Sivaji and plans to dethrone him.

Sivaji learns that Ashok is his brother and wants to meet his mother. However, Ashok presents a wrong image of Sivaji before his mother and compels Sivaji to keep his distance from his mother. Moreover, Ashok joins hands with Bhawani Prasad and asks him to kill Sivaji.

Sivaji secretly helps Ashok make a good business to enable his mother to live a better life. However, Ashok makes a heinous plan to kill Sivaji with the help of Ras Bihari.

What happens next is the rest of the story of  Chatrapathi.

Earlier, Director V.V. Vinayak launched Bellamkonda Sreenivas in the 2014 Telugu film Alludu Seenu. Vinayak also launches Bellamkonda Sreenivas in his Hindi debut film Chatrapathi (2023).
