Christopher Antony (Mammootty) is a brave, honest, and upright IPS Officer. He is a vigilant police officer who often makes encounters to give punishment the culprit and to safeguard women, children, and weaker sections of society.
In such an encounter, Christopher kills five people. The Home Secretary, Beena Mariam Chacko (Sneha), the Ex-Wife of Christopher, pressurizes Chief Minister for an investigation. Christopher gets suspended, and an investigation starts against him. Superintendent of Police Sulekha (Amala Paul) is the incharge of the investigation team. However, she has already made up her mind to prove Christopher guilty.
SP Sulekha decides to unearth Christopher's previous encounter killings instead of probing by looking into the case files. She starts meeting with colleagues of Christopher one by one.
Sulekha learns that years ago, during a riot, a group of people brutally raped and killed his sister. The group also killed Christopher's parents and set their house on fire.
Young Christopher attempted to kill those culprits with the help of a knife. However, SP Vetrivel (R. Sarath Kumar) stopped him and shot the criminals to give justice to Christopher. From the incident, Christopher learned the power of the police, which inspired him to become an IPS officer.
After becoming an IPS officer, Christopher started eradicating anti-social elements by killing them and became an encounter specialist.
ASI Mohd. Ismail Deepak Parambol was an honest police officer like Christopher and assisted him earlier in Madhya Pradesh. Ismail's wife had already died, and he had a young daughter Amina.
In the meantime, Christopher met Beena (Sneha), the then District Collector of Pondicherry. A group of robbers started robbing and killing people. They used to come from the nearby dense forest area, and Beena sought help from Christopher.
Christopher and his team successfully killed the robbers-cum-murderers. However, Ismail succumbed to an injury and died. Amina remained alone, and no relative was ready to take her responsibility. Christopher took Amina to his house and nurtured her like her own daughter.
Later Beena and Christopher get married and start living happily.
One day during a police raid at a hotel in Kochi, police found a group of girls heavily doped. Investigation revealed that the real culprit was Sebastian Chacko (Shaheen Siddique), the younger brother of Beena.
Minister Chackochan, the father of Beena and Sebastian, settled the issue by giving money to each girl, with the support of Abhilash Balakrishnan (Dileesh Pothan), the then SP and a friend of Christopher.
Later the maid working at Minister Chackochan's house made a complaint about her missing daughter. After the investigation, Christopher learned that Sebastian (brother of Beena) raped and brutally killed the girl.
Christopher arrested Sebastian against the will of Beena and her father. However, outside the court premises, Sebastian tried to escape from the custody of a policeman by snatching his rifle, and Christopher shot him dead. After this incident, Beena and Christopher separated and later parted ways. Christopher remained with the adopted daughter Amina. Later Christopher got a promotion to the rank of ADGP.
ADGP Christopher lives with his grown-up daughter Amina (Aishwarya Lekshmi), a lawyer and social activist.
Aswini Sitaram Trimurthi (Aditi Ravi) meets Amina and tells him some secrets about her affluent businessman husband, Sitaram Trimurthi (Vinay Rai). Aswini also gives a pen drive to Amina that contains proof of the illegal activities of his husband. However, Aswini dies in a road accident after two-three days.
Amina starts an investigation and concludes that Sitaram is the murderer of his wife and father-in-law to usurp their money and properties. Amina shares her suspicions and doubts with Christopher and gives him the Pendrive. However, someone brutally assaults and kills Amina. Christopher's life shatters after the death of Amina, his only companion.
SP Sulekha (Amala Paul) realizes that Christopher is not guilty. She also starts an investigation into Amina's murderer. Sulekha requests Christopher not to interfere in Amina's murder case, but Christopher has a different plan to find the killer of Amina.
Who killed Amina? Who Killed Aswini? What is the connection between Sitaraman in both murders? What is the plan of Christopher? Who is the real culprit? What happens to Beena and Christopher's relationship? And what is the final report of Sulekha about the encounter charges? Film Christopher gives reply to all such queries satisfactorily.
