Siddharth (Babushan Mohanty) has recently completed his MBBS from Bhubaneswar, a Government sponsored medical college.
According to the directions of the Odisha Government, every student has to serve in a tribal or rural area in the Malkangiri district in Odisha for five years. If a student refuses to work in such a rural area, there is a fine of five crores of the Indian rupee.
Accordingly, Siddharth receives a posting in Janbai Primary Health Care (PHC), a cut-off tribal area in the Malkangiri district of Odisha, against his wishes.
Janbai is infamous for Naxal dominance with no basic facilities. Siddharth arrives at Janbai with difficulties and meets the Pharmacist Ravi (Dipanwit Dashmohapatra) for work.
Siddharth soon gets frustrated with the place and its natives and decides to escape. However, when a villager brings his daughter for treatment, Dr. Siddhart finds her suffering from Malaria.
Siddharth learns that most of the people around are not interested in hospital facilities, and they treat diseases by exorcism. Siddharth now decides to spread awareness in the villages.
Dr. Siddharth manages some funds and provides mosquito nets to the villagers. However, after a few months, he realizes that the villagers are using the mosquito net for different purposes than keeping mosquitoes away.
Siddharth and Rabi run a large-scale awareness campaign named DAMaN in the presence of senior government officers from nearby villages.
