Movie Plot

Rajendran Ponnappa (V. Ravichandran) is an orphan. He could not study much and dropped out after his 4th standard. However, Rajendran manages to establish his life and now runs a cable television service in the village.

Rajendran is married to Seetha (Navya Nair), and the couple has two daughters. The elder daughter Sindhu (Aarohi Narayan), is a student in 12th standard, and Shreya (Unnathi) is a student in class 6th.

The family is a happy one because Rajendran is passionate about his family. He has one more passion, watching movies. He spends most of the time watching movies on Tv in his office while the office assistant (Prashanth Siddi) does the required office jobs.

Twist in the story

Sindhu goes to a nature camp with school friends. Tarun Chandrashekar (Rohith Bhanuprakash), the son of Inspector General (IG) Roopa Chandrashekhar (Asha Sharath), is in the nature camp. Tarun makes an objectionable video while Sindhu takes a bath.

Later Tarun visits Sidhu's house and blackmails her for sexual favours. Seetha comes into the picture and requests Tarun not to spoil her daughter's life. Sindhu also confronts Tarun and pushes him while he tries to come closer to her. Tarun receives a head injury and succumbs to death. Perplexed, Seetha and Sindhu dig a pit and hide the body while Shreya witnesses the incident.

A man's struggle to save his family

Rajendran returns home and learns about the unfortunate incident. He knows that IG Roopa will not spare his daughter and wife. Moreover, he loves his family more than anything else. Thus, Rajendran decides to save his family.

Since Rajendran has seen numerous crime movies, he knows how police will work. He first disposes of Tarun's Cell Phone and then draws Tarun's car into a pond. However, Suryaprakash (Achyuth Kumar), a police constable, who keeps grudges against Rajendran, witnesses Rajendran in Tarun's car.

The next day

Rajendran takes his family on a road trip to attend a religious retreat. He goes to a restaurant, watches a movie, and rides a bus with his family. Rajendran becomes friendly wherever he goes and leaves an alibi because the films have taught him all these tricks.

Start of investigation

When Tarun's phone remains untraceable, and he does not return to his home, IG Roopa starts searching for her son. When Constable Suryaprakash informs that he witnessed Rajendran in a car that appears to be someone else, Roopa calls Rajendran and his family for questioning.

Rajendran knows the police investigation style and teaches his family members to stick to their statement that they were on a trip on the day the unfortunate incident happened.

The family sticks to their statement even when questioned individually. All pieces of evidence and alibis support the information of the family members. However, IG Roopa doubts their involvement because she thinks the family is well prepared.

Tarun's father (Prabhu), who also witnesses the investigation, thinks the family is innocent, but Roopa is sure there is something wrong at the bottom. She finally orders Constable Suryaprakash to take out the truth by any means.

Truth reveals

Suryaprakash beats the family member to know the truth. However, no one speaks the truth. In the end, Shreya, the younger daughter, breaks down and tells the truth about the dead body of Tarun, which is lying under the earth in the house premises.

Shocking twist

Roopa digs out the place with the help of police personnel. However, she gets shocked when she finds the carcass of a calf instead of her son's dead body.

Public gathers at the place since Rajendran is a respected village person. When the police do not find the body, Rajendran's brother-in-law raises an agitation, and the public attacks the police force, and they have to go back.

Consequences of police brutality

Rajendran and Shreya report to the media and complains against Constable Suryaprakash. The Constable gets suspended, and Roopa resigns from her post.

Later, Roopa and her husband meet Rajendran and ask for forgiveness for their violent behaviour. They also ask about their son Tarun. However, Rajendran knows they can play a foul game and hence does disclose the truth.

The climax reveals the place where Rajendran composed the dead body of Tarun.
