Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan is the director of Gorkha. Anand L. Rai and Himanshu Sharma have jointly produced the film.
Akshay Kumar is playing the lead role. The makers will announce the rest of the cast in due course of time.
Movie Plot
Gorkha is a story of Major General Ian Cardozo. He was a veteran officer of the Gorkha Regiment (5th Gorkha Rifles) of the Indian Army.
During the Pakistani-Bangladesh War of 1971 the Major fall of Dhaka. He stepped on a land mine and his leg was critically injured.
Due to the non-availability of medicines like morphine or pethidine, and the absence of doctors, an amputation surgically was not feasible.
The Major subsequently used his Khukri (a curved steel knife with a razor-sharp edge) to amputate his own leg.
