Jawan is an Indian Hindi-language (Bollywood) Action Thriller film released on September 7, 2023.
Earlier, the worldwide release date of the film was June 2, 2023. However, on May 6, 2023, the release date was postponed to September 7, 2023.
South Indian movie Director Atlee Kumar helms the Action Thriller movie. He is best known for his superhit directorial movies like Theri (2016), Mersal (2017), and Bigil (2019).
It is the third collaboration of G.K. Vishnu (Cinematographer) and Atlee Kumar after Bigil and Mersal.

Azad Rathore (Shah Rukh Khan), the prison warden at a women's facility in Mumbai, leads a gang of inmates, including Lakshmi (Priyamani), Dr. Eeram (Sanya Malhotra), Ishkra (Girija Oak), Kalki (Lehar Khan), Helena (Sanjeeta Bhattacharya), and Janhvi (Aaliyah Qureishi).
Together, they hijack a Mumbai Metro train and negotiate with NSG officer Narmada Rai, demanding ?40,000 crores from the government in exchange for the passengers' lives.
Kaliee Gaikwad, a white-collar criminal and the fourth largest arms dealer in the world, discovers that his daughter Alia is among the captives and agrees to pay the ransom.
Later, Azad and investigation officer Narmada (Nayanthara) meet, fall in love, and get married. They hatch a plan to kidnap the Health Minister and demand world-class infrastructure for government hospitals in exchange for his release.
One night, Narmada uncovers Azad's true identity, leading to a confrontation. Kaliee's brother, Manish Gaikwad, captures and tortures them. However, Azad is rescued by Vikram (Shah Rukh Khan in a double role) and taken to safety. Narmada learns about Azad and Vikram's past when confronting the gang.
Vikram was a commando tasked with hunting down a terrorist group responsible for attacking soldiers and holding civilians captive.
After finishing off the terrorists, Vikram discovers that faulty weapons supplied by Kaalie caused brutal injuries to his team.
He reports Kaalie, who retaliates by attacking Vikram and his wife, Aishwarya (Deepika Padukone). Vikram is shot and presumed dead, while Aishwarya is imprisoned for killing corrupt cops on Kaalie's payroll.
Years later, Aishwarya reveals her past to her son Azad, urging him to prove Vikram's innocence and seek justice for the oppressed. She is sentenced to death, while Vikram survives with amnesia and embarks on a quest to find Azad.
Narmada decides to assist Azad in his mission upon learning of his past. However, one of Narmada's teammates, revealed to be on Kaalie's payroll, attempts to eliminate them, resulting in Lakshmi's death.
Azad arrives at the prison and eliminates Irani during a stampede. Vikram, Azad, and their team attack Kaalie's containers, which hold funds for upcoming elections.
Azad successfully steals the containers, but Kaali's henchmen capture Vikram. Azad released a video demanding the sealing of 253 factories responsible for pollution, which the government complies with.
Kaalie discovers Azad's location in the women's prison, leading to a final confrontation. Vikram regains his memory and helps Azad by hanging Kaalie to death. In the aftermath, Azad and his team head to a new mission.
