Jugnu (1973) is a Bollywood Drama Movie released on 30 August, 1973 (India). The movie was produced and directed by Pramod Chakravorthy. The movie was written by Sachin Bhowmick, Gulshan Nand and Ehsan Rizvi.
Jugnu (1973) proved a Superhit on Box Office by earning Rs. 7 Crores and also became the 2nd Highest Grossing Bollywood Movie of the year 1973 after Bobby followed by Daag, Zanjeer and Yaadon Ki Baaraat.
Jugnu (1973) stars Dharmendra and Hema Malini in lead roles. Pran, Prem Chopra, Nazir Hussain, mehmood, Lalita Pawar, Manmohan, Kamal Kapoor, Brahm Bhardwaj, Dhumal and Jayshree T. played supporting roles in the movie.
Music for Jugnu (1973) was composed by S.D. Burman who composed some melodious songs like Pyar Ke Is Khel Me, Bahon Me Jugnu, Gir Gaya Jhumka and Jaane Kya Pilaaya Tune.
Young child Ashok (Dharmendra) kills Ghanshyam Das (Sujit Kumar) who tries to molest his mother. Ashok then flees and take a new Avtar named Jugnu who is like Robinhood to the underprivileged section of society.
Ashok becomes a handsome young man and starts living double life one as Ashok and another as Jugnu. Ashok becomes a respectable man in the society who gives charity and also runs a school for underprivileged children.
Ashok meets a pretty girl Seema (Hema Malini), daughter of I.G. Police (Raj Mehra), and falls for her. Initially Seema does not like Ashok and remains befriend with Ramesh (Prem Chora) but later she also falls in love with Ashok. On the other hand Ramesh lusts for Seema and trapped her by saying that he can arrange her meeting with her real father Shyam.
In the meantime Ashok/Jugnu comes to know about a gang and its leader (Ajit) who is indulge in some anti national activities. Jugnu now decides to stop him and eradicate his gang completely.
