Kala Pani (1958) is a Black & White Social Drama Bollywood Movie released on 09 May, 1958. Sadhna was produced by Dev Anand and directed by Raj Khosla. The movie was written by G.R. Kamath and Anand Pal. The movie is a remake of Bengali Movie Sabar Upaarey (1955).

Karan (Dev Anand) after becoming mature comes to know that his late father is actually alive and spending his time in jail for a murder he has not committed. Karan meets his father and assures him to reopen the case after finding substantiates evidences.
Karan visits to the city where the incident has taken place. He becomes paying guest to Asha (Madhubala) who also works as a journalist. Karan meets the investigation Police Office Mehta (Nasir Hussain) who informs about Kishori (Nalini Jaywant) and Jumman (Krishan Dhawan) who witnesses against his father.
Karan further comes to know that Kishori is in possession of a letter which can prove his father innocent. Karan meets the prosecutor (Kishore Sahu) who suggested him to bring the letter from Kishori so that he finds a strong ground to file a re-opening case in the court.
Karan meets Kishori and pretends to fall in love with him to get that letter. In the meantime Karan and Asha develop real love between them. Finally, Karan gets the letter from Kishori and tells her everything. Karan hands over the letter to the Prosecutor but shocked when the same is burnt by him in front of Karan.
