Maamannan is a Tamil Political Thriller film released incinemas on 29 June 2023. The film started streaming on the OTT platform Netflix on 27 July 2023.

Maamannan (Vadivelu) is an MLA belonging to the oppressed community (Dalit). Whereas, Rathnavelu (Fahadh Faasil), the son of Salem Sundaram (Azhagam Perumal), is the district secretary in the same party and belongs to the dominant community.
Athiveeran, alias Veera, is an estranged son of Maamannan (Vadivelu), who lives in Adimurai and works as a Martial Arts instructor. He left home owing to a casteist attack from the local dominant community members in his childhood, which left him emotionally and physically scarred.
Rathnavelu (Fahadh Faasil) bears an aggressive attitude and always finds an opportunity to attack (verbally) Maamannan (Vadivelu) for his political benefit.
Shanmugavel (Sunil Reddy), the younger brother of Rathnavelu, runs a group of educational institutions. He goes after a coaching class run by Leela (Keerthy Suresh) and her college friends. They have been using the premises of the martial arts school run by Adiveeran, their college friend, who has offered them the place.
When the institute gets ransacked, Veera, the love interest of Leela, comes into the picture and retaliates against Shammugavel. The retaliation brings Rathnavelu and Maamannan as political rivals. These rivals wish to defeat their opponent by showing their power, prestige, and domination.
One day, Rathnavelu notices some party members and colleagues disrespecting his late father, Sundaram. Rathnavelu immediately reacts very aggressively and lashes out at them.
In the meantime, some surprising turn of events makes Veera realize the truth about his father's situation. Veera now supports his father and starts a game plan to defame Rathnavelu and raise the political status of his father, Maamannan.
