Maasaab [meaning-The Teacher] is a Hindi language film initially released at Jharkhand National Film Festival on 25 October 2015 and at Habitat Film Festival on 26 May 2019. The film was released all over Indian on 29 January 2021.

Aditya Om is the director of Maasaab. He has written the screenplay and dialogues also.

Shiva Suryavanshi has written the Story, additional screenplay, and additional dialogue. He has also played the lead role in Maasaab.

Shrikant Asati is the Cinematographer, and Prakash Jha (not to be confused with Director Prakash Jha) is the Film Editor.

Shiva Suryavanshi and Sheetal Singh have played the lead roles. Mannveer Choudharry, Hussain Khan, Sohit Soni, and Nandram Anand have played pivotal roles in Maasaab.

Movie Plot

Ashish Kumar (Shiva Suryavanshi) is a high-ranking IAS officer. His heart and soul lie in teaching and educating kids. He left the high lucrative government job to fulfill his dreams.

He visits a far-flung backward area and starts educating underprivileged students in a Primary School. Slowly by his conviction and consistency, he starts transforming the village Primary. The changes were so radical that the students of the Primary School started competing with the students of the best private schools around.

But some people do not like the ideology of Ashish Kumar and hatch a conspiracy against him. And Ashish Kumar faces new challenges from a society entrenched in dogma, superstition, feudalism, and corruption.

Ashish Kumar faces every hurdle with tolerance, determination, and self-belief. The question remains whether he would continue to his path of spreading education and awareness is what the climax of the film reveals.
