In Calcutta, there is a serial killer on the loose. Known as Common Man alias Ajay (Sumeet Vyas), he has been terrorizing the city with his gruesome murders. Special force chief Rangeela (Rajesh Sharma) is desperate to catch him, but Common Man is proving to be a difficult target.
Rangeela summons Durga (Radhika Apte), an erstwhile agent who had retired to live with her husband Deb and their family. Durga is reluctant at first, as she has left her previous life behind to focus on her family. However, Rangeela convinces her that catching Common Man is crucial, and Durga finally agrees to help.
Durga starts investigating the case, analyzing the evidence, and trying to identify any patterns in the killer's behavior. Meanwhile, Common Man continues to strike, leaving behind a trail of death and fear.
As Durga gets closer to Common Man, she realizes that he is not an ordinary killer. He is intelligent and meticulous, always one step ahead of her. Durga's mission becomes even more complicated when she discovers that her husband Deb is connected to Common Man in some way.
Despite the challenges, Durga remains determined to catch Common Man and bring him to justice. She uses all her skills and expertise to track him down, risking everything to stop his killing spree.
In the end, Durga's perseverance pays off. She manages to outsmart Common Man and apprehend him, putting an end to his reign of terror. The city can finally breathe a sigh of relief, and Durga can return to her family, proud of the job she has done.
Anushree Mehta is the Writer and Director, and Abir Sengupta is the Writer of the Additional Screenplay of the film Mrs. UndercoverDespite having an interesting premise, the execution falls short in several ways.
The story feels contrived and lacks excitement, with several convenient twists and turns. The viewers are left with several questions, but the writers have not addressed them. The dialogues are okay but fail to add much depth to the characters or the story.
While Radhika Apte delivers a decent performance as agent Durga, Sumeet Vyas, and Shaheb Chattopadhyay's acting are average. Rajesh Sharma is fantastic as Special Force Chief Rangeela. However, the supporting cast, including Laboni Sarkar, Biswajeet Chakraborty, Aman Mehra, Indrasish Roy, and Angana Roy, provide routine support only. The direction is also only average.
The music, composed by Abhinav Shekhar, Amit Sawant, and Ankit Shah, is alright, but the lyrics by Shloke Lal and Abhinav Shekhar are ordinary. The background score by Kshitij Tarey could have been better. The cinematography, action scenes, and editing are above average. Overall the film is an average Thriller.
