Vijay Anand (Amitabh Bachchan), a renowned photographer in his sixties, lives a peaceful life in Kerala with his wife, Amrita (Revathi), and their teenage daughter, Ritu (Shraddha Arya).
During a summer break, Ritu brings home her free-spirited friend, Jia (Jiah Khan), to spend the holidays. Jia's mother lives alone in Australia after getting divorced from her husband. Jia studies in India and lives a free-spirited life.
Circumstances make Vijay fall in love with the teenager Jia, who also nodes for the illicit relationship with Vijay.
How far will this unexpected bond go? Can a moment of weakness destroy years of love and trust? The rest of the film narrates the consequences of forbidden desires and the fragile nature of human relationships.
