Movie Plot

Middle-aged Anjan Dutt and Mamata Shankar live in a rented house (named Palan) for forty years. The house is dilapidated due to a lack of proper maintenance.

Soon, a promoter purchases the property, and the ownership changes. The new owner wants the house vacated. On the other hand, Anjan is not willing to give up the possession despite many temptations.

A twist in the story

One day, the part of the house that sticks out at the top fell down. A tenant who lived on the floor below got hurt really badly and eventually died.

Because of this sad accident, the town's leaders decided that the house was not safe anymore, and they told Anjan, the person who owned the house, that he had to leave and couldn't stay there anymore.

The son (Jisshu Sengupta) of Ajan lives with his wife (Paoli Dam) in a nuclear family. He wants to take his father with him but is afraid of sleeping arrangements for everyone.

The anxiety of the young couple increases when Anjan falls and injures his back the night before leaving the home.

What will Mamata and Anjan do now? Should they accommodate the nuclear family of their son (Jisshu Sengupta) and daughter-in-law (Paoli Dam)? The film Palan gives replies to all such queries.
