Movie Plot

Rocky Randhawa (Ranveer Singh) is a well-built, good-looking, and rich Punjabi boy from Delhi, and Rani Chatterjee (Alia Bhatt) is an educated, strong-willed, and cultured Bengali journalist. Despite their different backgrounds, they instantly connect and fall in love.

Rocky and Rani meet and instantly hit it off. Their personalities may be different, but their chemistry is undeniable.

As their love grows, so do the cultural differences between their families. Rocky's family is traditional and run by his stern grandmother, Dhanlaxmi (Jaya Bhaduri Bachchan), who acts as the domineering matriarch.

The Unique Idea:

Since Rocky and Rani face resistance from their families, they come up with a unique plan to switch households for three months to adapt to each other's cultural backgrounds and build bonds with family members.
