Sanki (2023) [Hindi Movie]

Sanki is an upcoming Hindi (Bollywood) Crime Thriller film. The tentative release date of the film is 31 October 2023. However, the makers have not announced the release date.

Sanki is the official remake of the Tamil Crime Thriller film Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru released on 29 December 2016. Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru [meaning: 16 extremes], also known as D-16.

The name "Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru" also alludes to the fact that there are 16 characters in the film, and they indulge in extreme life events, making it 16 extremes (Dhuruvangal 16).

Cast & Crew

Film Kesari (2019) fame Anurag Singh is the Director of Sanki. Sajid Nadiadwala and Bubby Kent are the Producers of Sanki.

Rajat Arora is the Screenplay Writer, whereas Karthick Naren is the original story writer of Sanki. Karthick Naren was the Writer-Director of Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru.

Cast

Varun Dhawan and Parineeti Chopra play pivotal roles in Sanki. Rest of the cast will be announced in due course of time.

Movie Plot

In the original version, Deepak, a retired police officer, narrates the story of one of the most complicated and unsolved cases of his career, to the son of another police officer, as part of career advice.

The story begins with a rainy day when three men hit someone from their car, causing the immediate death of the victim. The three men carry the dead body in the trunk of their car and reach their home.

The following day Deepak, the narrator, receives suicidal information about Krish. While investigating the suicidal matter, certain clues take him to the house of those three men who hit someone with their car yesterday. However, he does not find any connection between the three men and Krish.

Deepak receives another call from Vaishnavi, who informs that her friend Shruti has gone missing, and there is blood strain in her bedroom. Investigation reveals that the blood samples match Krish.

Complications start compiling when Vaishnavi leaves the town without information. Further, the three men realized that the man had already died before their car collided with him. Moreover, the dead body is now missing from the trunk of their car.

Deepak and his junior Gautham observe that the suicide of Krish, Shruti, Vaishnavi, and the dead body carried by three men, are interconnected.

In the meantime, a white car starts following Deepak and Gautham. However, Deepak meets up with an accident and amputates his leg. He, therefore, takes retirement from the police force.

Deepak stops narrating the story, but the real story is coming up now. The film takes a dramatic turn, and the unsolved case reopens in front of Deepak.

Who was the Killer? What was the connection between Shruti, Vaishnavi, Krish, and the dead body carried away by the three men? Was there something more to know for Deepak?

An altercation follows, more revelations emerge, and the thriller-noir moves toward an unexpected climax.
