Shikar (1968) stars Dharmendra, Asha Parekh, Sanjeev Kumar, Helen and Johnny Walker who won the Filmfare Best Comedian. Sanjeev Kumar won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award and Helen was nominated for Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award.
Music Director duo Shankar-Jaikishan composed music for Shikar and made 6 songs for the movie. Out of these 6 songs, 2 songs became very popular i.e. Tumhare Pyar Me Ham sung by Mohammed Rafi and Parde Me Rehne Do sung by Asha Bhosle for which whe Won Filmfare Best Female Playback Singer Award. All lyrics were penned by Hasrat Jaipuri.
Ajay Singh (Dharmendra), a Manager, finds his friend Naresh Mathur (Ramesh Deo), an alcoholic womanizer, murdered. Ajay sees a girl at the murder spot with a gun in her hands but before he can catch her she disappears. Ajay informs Police and inspector Rai (Sanjeev Kumar) is given the charge of the case.
Soon Ajay meets Kiran (Asha Parekh) who is the same girl whom Ajay sees at the murder spot. But Kiran is a daughter of a powerful and respectable citizen Sharma (Rehman). Hence, Ajay starts following Kiran and in the process he falls in love with him. During a Dance Show where Kiran dances with a partner, Ajay comes to know that Kiran must have some evidences that would lead him to the real killer of Naresh Mathur.
