Sir Madam Sarpanch is a Hindi Social Satire film released on 14 April 2023 in Cinemas.

The film takes inspiration from the real-life story of an Indian girl who studied abroad. She returns to her ancestral village and becomes a Sarpanch (elected Village Chief).

Movie Plot

Ana (Ariana Sajnani), a US-raised girl, decides to return to her ancestral home tome in central India. She wishes to start a Library in the village. However, her meritoriousness ignites a storm in the village’s politics and bureaucracy.

Ana tries hard to procure the requisite permissions for opening a library but all in vain. Ana then stands for the Village Council elections to deal with this impasse and to encounter further absurdity in the political and social systems.

The film Sir Madam Sarpanch depicts the journey of the girl journey to open the library. The film unveils how books can be dangerous for a prevailing system in India in a satirical manner.
