Sumo Didi (2023) [Hindi Movie]

Sumo Didi is an upcoming Hindi (Bollywood) Sports Biographical film. The tentative release date of the film is 30 November 2023. The makers will soon announce the official release date of the film.

The film takes inspiration from the life of Hetal Dave, India's first and only professional female sumo wrestler. In 2008, this woman from Mumbai made it into the Limca Book of Records. Her first international championship was in Estonia.

After Estonia, Dave has represented India in various tournaments held in Poland, Finland, and Taiwan. At the 2009 World Games, she stood fifth in the women's middleweight category.

Jackky Bhagnani's sister Shriyam Bhagnani plays the lead role in Suno Didi.

Movie Plot

Sumo Didi depicts the story of Hetal Dave, the first and only professional female sumo wrestler in India. She won an international tournament too.

In a time where women are still having to fight for their primary rights, where body shaming is still considered as having a sense of humor, Hetal Dave chose to love herself for who she is. She forces the world from believing her biggest weakness into her biggest strength.
