Tamilarasan takes inspiration from the 2022 American film John Q directed by Nick Cassavetes.

Movie Plot
Tamilarasan (Vijay Antony) is an honest cop who lives happily with his wife, Leena (Ramya Nambeeshan), and son Prabhakar (Master Pranav). Mohan. Tamilarasan has some conflicts with his superiors, and he gets suspended.
One day, Tamilarasan and his wife rush Prabhakar, their only son, to the Lotus Hospital when Prabhakar collapses suddenly. Prabhakar needs a heart transplant immediately due to some defect in his heart.
To receive a heart donor, the name of Prabhakar should be there in the list of donations. However, the hospital authority demands Rs. 25 lahks in advance to include the name in the donation list.
Tamilrasan tries to negotiate with Dr. Muruganantham (Suresh Gopi). However, he is not ready to listen to anything except the money. Every time the negotiation fails, life-threatening to Prabhakar increase.
Tamilarasan struggles to raise the money but all in vain. When no option is lefts for Tamilarasan, he takes Dr. Muruganantham (Suresh Gopi) and other people in the hospital as hostages at gunpoint.
The helpless and frustrated father demands to put Prabhakar's name on the organ transplant list. In the meantime, the police take action. Police Commissioner (Radha Ravi) appoints DCP Rana Prathap Singh (Sonu Sood), a corrupt police officer, to handle the situation.
