The 2023 Kannada Comedy Drama film Thothapuri: Chapter 2 is the sequel to the 2022 Kannada film Thothapuri: Chapter 1.
Aditi Prabhudeva and Jaggesh play the lead roles in Thothapuri: Chapter 1. The film also features Suman Ranganath, Dhananjaya, H. G. Dattatreya, Veena Sundar, Ram Manjjonaath, Shille Manjunath, and many others.
In the town of Srirangapatna, two unique individuals, Ere Gowda (Jaggesh) and Shakeela Banu (Aditi Prabhudeva), pave the way for a heartwarming love story.
Ere Gowda wears two hats - he's a farmer and a ladies' tailor. He believes in freedom over captivity and follows the mantra of peaceful coexistence.
On the other hand, Shakeela Banu works as a cashier at the Ammanni Co-operative Bank in Mysore. She's a devout Muslim who frequently pays her respects at the Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt. She enjoys playing the Veena and also follows a vegetarian lifestyle.
Interestingly, fate intertwines their lives. Ere Gowda's farm supplies vegetables to the Mutt, where Shakeela Banu contributes to religious programs with her Veena music.
In a world where people often exchange flowers, cards, and use digital devices, the couple finds love in the little things that bring them joy.
The Veena's melody and the humble two-wheeler tires become the strings that bind them. A basket of Thothapuri mangoes leads to their heartwarming embrace.
Gowda and Banu share a special love and respect for each other's beliefs. Gowda visits the mosque regularly, while Banu finds joy in playing the Veena at the Raghavendra Swamy temple.
Just when everything appears fine, Banu suddenly stops visiting the temple. Gowda is puzzled and makes it his mission to uncover the reason behind this change. This mystery becomes the heart of their story.
Will love triumph over religious prejudices?
