Tuesday and Fridays is a Bollywood Romantic Film released theaterically on 19 February 2021). Taranveer Singh has written and directed the film and has made his bollywood debut as Writer-Director. Famous film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has produced the film along with T Series King Bhushan Kumar and Shobha Sant.
The film is a story of Sia Malhotra (Jhataleka Malhotra) who lives life on her own terms. She meets Varun (Anmol Dhillon) as a client. Soon they become friends and want to convert this friendship into a relationship. However, Sia has her own terms and conditions to make their relationship a step ahead.
Sia makes three rules:
Rule No. 1: They meet only on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Rule No. 2: Varun will not catch up with any other girl on these two days.
Rule No. 3: No sex before their third date.
Varun accepts these conditions and walks a step ahead in his relationship. Varun soon starts loving Sia with depth of his heat but he starts hating rules made by her. He requests Sia to cancel these rules but she insists upon her conditional love.
How their relationship goes further is the rest of story.
When names like Bhushan Kumar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali join a project, film lovers can imagine the standard of the film. That is why people expected a bit much from Tuesdays & Fridays. So to live up to these expectations of movie lovers, the movie should at least be an average one to watch.
The film depicts the idea of dating for two days a week to know each other better. Lead Actor Arman Dhillon is a writer who has just tasted the success of his recent bestseller. The lead actress Jhatalekha Malhotra plays an upcoming Advocate. These two have some family backdrops so they think to spare less time together so that they don't get hurt in case of separation. Thus, it is decided to meet on Tuesday and Fridays only. Their love story goes further with some twists and turns of routine life.
The story is a bit unique but the concept thought by the story writer-cum-director is hardly acceptable by the youngsters. Moreover, it is impractical to fix weekdays to meet and not to chose weekends. Further, the youngster of Mumbai and London are smart enough to focus on their career first and they exactly know how to handle their relationship.
The screenplay is tipsy-turvy. The story goes in flashback many a time and each time it get bigger and boring.
Since the writer has himself directed the film there is nothing much to say about the directions. The film sometimes runs very fast and sometimes becomes pathetic to watch. The end of the film will give a sai of relief.
So does this meant that the film is really bad? Not actually. The lead pair has done justice to their job but not exceptionally well, I say. Nicki Walia is a surprise pack in the film. This film might be remembered for her best-acting drama.
The story begins in Mumbai and then it shifts to London thus locations are good and so is the cinematography.
1. If you have plenty of time to waste and you have nothing to do.
2. You want to watch an ex-Indian beauty contest winner after 7 years of the event.
3. You are kind enough to pay for tickets so that the producers may somehow recover a bit of their loss.
1. Not having the name of a big Bollywood celebrity.
2. Below an average movie.
3. Total wastage of time
4. Pathetic to watch
5. Unique story with unique angles beyond imagination.
6. Not worth watching in theaters.
7. Worst songs of the year despite having producers like Bhushan Kumar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
The choice is yours because it is your money and it is your time. You are free to use these two at your own will. Bollywood Product gives 4 out of 10 whereas IMDB does not show any rating for the movie until the article is written.
