The First Kashmiri film, Welcome to Kashmir, initially released in INOX theatre in Srinagar on 26 May 2023. The film lengths 120 Minutes and has two songs.

It is the first Hindi (Bollywood) movie made by locals based on the lives of Kashmiris. The film will be released later in India and on International platforms. This film mirrors issues faced by the people of Kashmir and illustrates a realistic image of Kashmiris and the J&K Police force.

Cast and Crew

Tariq Bhat is the Producer, Director, and one of the Writers of Welcome to Kashmir. Ashpak Mujawar is the other Writer.

Arfath Naseer and Dalvir Singh are the Cinematographers, Shankar Regar and Dalvir Singh are the Film Editors, whereas Ishfaq Kawa is the Music Director of Welcome to Kashmir. 

Cast

Mateena Rajput and Ahmad Shahab play lead roles in Welcome to Kashmir. Rehan Tariq, Simran Ahuja, Hussein Khan, Mohini Agarwal, Aijaz Dar Sagar, Kangana Rajput, Tariq Wani, Azmat Ayoub, Ayaan Parvez, and Tahir Gurezi play supporting roles in Welcome to Kashmir.

Movie Plot

The girl visits Kashmir, and one of her psycho, drug-addicted social media followers 'Zulfi' kidnaps her. Zulfi is a blind follower of a fake baba who provokes him. She proves her stand about women and fights back.

Naina (Mateena Rajput) is a brave girl who devotes her life to women's empowerment for fights for their justice. She passionately visits every Girl School and College in various states of India. There she motivates the girls through her speeches and gives them safety tips.

However, Naina has the nature to give up things. She believes that women are strong than men, but becomes a victim due to his give-up nature.

The life of Naina takes a U-Turn when she visits Kashmir when one of her social media followers, Zulfi (Ahmad Shahab),  a psycho, drug-addicted man, kidnaps her. Zulfi is under the influence of a fake Baba who provokes him.

The turning point comes when she has to prove her stand about women and fight back.

Welcome to Kashmir narrates how bravely Naina fights back to save herself. The film also praises the steps taken by the J&K Police for the safety of girls. The film has one more angle that throws light on drugs and fake Babas who hypnotize some Kashmiri youth and make them drug addicts.
