Demonte Colony is a 2015 Tamil Horror and Thriller film released in cinemas on 22 May 2015. .
Demonte Colony is the first film of the franchise. Demonte Colony 2 is both the sequel and prelude to it and the 2nd installment of the Demonte Colony franchise.
Years ago, a Portuguese business tycoon, Lord John De Monte (Antti Jaaskelainen). He loves his wife (Helen Taylor) and gifts her a precious locket that allegedly contains magical power.
Later, De Monte decides to return to Portugal after selling his properties in Calcutta after his wife starts suffering from a mental disorder.
Upon his return, after selling his properties, a female doctor informs De Monte that his wife was raped and is pregnant. An operation is necessary, and a senior doctor from the East Indian Company would do the same.
De Monte requests the doctor not to disclose the news to the outside world. However, when the doctor refuses, he kills the doctor and starts killing the servants, assuming one of them raped his wife.
In the meantime, the locals learn about the massacre and set fire to the house. Everybody, including De Monte, dies in the fire. After the incident, whoever enters the dilapidated De Monte villa dies soon in mysterious circumstances.
Raghavan (Sananth), Sajith (Abishek Joseph), Vimal (Ramesh Thilak), and Srinivasan alias Srini (Srinivasan) are four friends.
Out of bravado, the four friends enter the allegedly cursed De Monte dilapidated house and remain there in the night. However, surprisingly, the four remained alive.
The next day, the friends visit an astrologer, Josiyar (M.S. Bhaskar). The astrologer takes their thumbprints and tells them everything about Srini and Vimal. However, the astrologer calls them after a few days to know the future of Sajith and Raghavan.
After returning from the astrologer, Raghavan discloses that he has found the precious locket of the wife of De Monte. The friends plan to sell it and become rich.
However, all their dreams shatter when bizarre activities start in the house. The television gets on automatically, and they witness a short film in which they are the characters.
In the film, they get trapped in their own house, and no one from outside can hear them. Moreover, they die one after one. They also discover that Srijith died the previous night when they went to the De Monte villa, and now his ghost is with them.
What happens next? Can they come out of the house, or do they succumb to death? The film ''Demonte Colony'' narrates the struggles of friends for survival.
