Jeevan Mrityu (1970) is an Indian Bollywood Crime Thriller Movie released on 1 January, 1970 (India). The movie was produced by Tarachand Barjatya and directed by Satyen Bose. Jeevan Mrityu was remake of A Bengali Movie Jiban Mrityu (1967) starring Bengali Superstar Uttam Kumar.
Jeevan Mrityu (1970) got commercial success on Box Office by earning Rs. 4 Crores and also became the Fifth Highest Grossing Bollywood Movie for the year 1970 after Johny Mera Naam, Sachaa Jhutha, Aan Milo Sajna and Purab Aur Paschim followed by Khilona, Sharafat and Humjoli.
Jeevan Mrityu (1970) stars Dharmendra, Ajit and Raakhee who made her debut in Bollywood Movies. Kanhaiya Lal, Ramesh Deo, Roopesh Kumar, P. Jaidi, Rajendra Nath, Leeta Chitnis and Gajanan Jagirdar played supporting roles in the movie.
Laxmikant-Pyarelal composed music for Jeevan Mrityu (1970) and lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi. Together they created a historic romantic song Jhilmil Sitaron Ka Aangan Hoga sung by Mohammed Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar who also sung the female version of the song.
Jeevan Mrityu (1970) Movie Plot: Ashok Tandon (Dharmendra) is in a relationship with Deepa (Raakhee) and plans to marry her soon. Ashok works as a Bank Manager and is very honest in his work. His honesty is not liked by some shrewd colleagues especially Harishchandra (Ajit) who frames Ashok for stealing money from Bank and Ashok is sentenced for seven year imprisonment.
Ashok takes promise from Deepa to take care of his mother (Leela Chitnis) and Deepa agrees to the same. But when Ashok returns from jail he finds his mother is dead and Deepa has married and relocated.
Ashok’s friend Ranbir Singh (Bipin Gupta) gives him a job and a new identity. Ashok is now known as Bikram Singh. He also changed his attire and looks like a Punjabi Sardar (Sikh). His goal is to find Deepa and Harishchandra to take revenge from both of them.
