Kabuliwala is a Bollywood Drama Movie released on 14 December 1961. The movie was produced by Bimal Roy and directed by Hemen Gupta who earlier used to work as Private Secretary to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. He also directed Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose (1966) a tribute to the legend. The movie was a big commercial success and remained one of the Top 10 Highest Grossing Bollywood Movies of 1961 by earning approx. 1.4 Cr.
Movie Plot: Rehman (Balraj Sahani), a Poor Afghani person leaves his family to earn bread and butter by selling dry fruit. Homsik Rehman befriends Mini (Sonu), a young girl, who always reminds him of his own daughter. Things takes a U turn when he is arrested, convicted and sentenced for 10 years 10 years of imprisonment for the charge of a murder he has not committed.
