Malang (2020) is a Psychological Thriller Hindi Movie released today on February 07, 2020. The movie is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Luv Ranjan, Ankur Garg and Jay Shewakaramani and Directed by Mohit Suri who is believed to be a good director as far as Thriller Movies are concerned. Most of his directorials are Thrillers namely Zehar (2005), Kalyug (2005), Awarapan (2007), Raaz: The Mystery Continues (2009), Crook: It’s Good To Be Bad (2010), Murder 2 (2011) and Ek Villain (2014).
If you have already seen aforementioned movies; there is probably nothing new to watch. Moreover, watching Malang means watching a new version of Ek Villain where Ritesh Deshmukh is replaced by Kunal Khemu. Both characters are frustrated due to their wives and are on a killing spree. Siddhart Malhotra replaced by Aditya Roy Kapur who is passionate about his love and soon starts killing people in the first half of movie without any reason. Both movies are shot in Goa. The only big difference is that the role of Police Officer which is stretched comparatively because of the presence of ever young Anil Kapoor.
Malang (2020)-Movie Plot
Sara (Disha Patani) visits Goa as a tourist and falls in love with Advait Singh (Adiyta Roy Kapur) and soon gets pregnant. But a incident with a police cop turns their life upside down and Adavait goes on a killing spree where two police cops Michael Rodrigues (Kunal Khemu) and Anjaney Agashe (Anil Kapoor) are in his way. Since, suspense should not be told here hence you have to watch the movie to know the reason why everyone is killing everyone. However, suspense don’t come out as expected. Yet the climax is a very good one despite shown with a slow pace.
Acting
Acting is the most impressive part of the movie. Kunal Khemu has come up with a surprise package and he has suppressed rest of the actors. He is brilliant and lives his character. Anil Kapoor is as usual good but we have already seen him in this avatar many a times. Aditya Roy Kapur plays a silent killer who speaks less. However, his chemistry with Disha Patani seems good. Aditya Elli AvrRam has very small screen time as a Hippie.
Music
Songs are melodious but not magical. No song comes out with you after the movie finishes except the single line of title track Rahoon Main Malang Malang Malang. Some songs are like stuffed in the movie and can not go hand in hand with the movie and only increases the lenth of the movie.
Direction
Mohit Soori has become very typical and predictable in the movie and his directorial magic which we have already seen in Zehar (2005) and Raaz (2010) is missing very badly in the movie. He has just recreated Ek Villain (2014) with some dreamy sequence very far from the reality. The movie length of 2 Hours and 15 Minutes could be shorten for another 15 minutes. In Malang, Mohit Suri has failed many a times to make the movie run with a steady pace and it becomes unbearable for the audience.
Malang Movie Review
Malang (2020) is very predictable. After watching 35 to 40 Minutes you started prediction and the same come out to be true. Suspense should be on the top in the movie but that is not the case. Through the first half of the movie makes curiosity, yet it is very slow and the 2nd part of the movie does not come out as per the expectations. Audience remains in dilemma about the killing actions of every character supported with flashback stories which seems good. But when the reason come out it does not fulfill our expectations. The film is for Multiplex viewers only and not for single screen audience can be seen if you love to watch thriller movie. Bollywood Product's rating for Malang (2020) is 5 out of 10.
