Carry On Jatta 2 - Punjabi Film 2018

Carry On Jatta 2 is a Punjabi-language Comedy film released in cinemas on 1 June 2018. The film has a runtime of 150 Minutes. Jatts are landowners and farmers in Punjab known for their masculine antics, go-do attitude, and resilience. The word "Jatta" denots to Jatts.

Carry On Jatta 2 is a sequel to Carry On Jatta (2012). The film received immense success at the Worldwide Box Office.

Pilata Bigidigala, the 2015 Odia film; Eedo Rakam Aado Rakam, the 2016 Telugu Film; Dhat Teri Ki, the 2017 Bengali (Bangladeshi) film' and Jamai Badal, the 2019 Bengali (Indian) film are remakes of the 2012 Punjabi-language film Carry on Jatta. However, the core storyline of Carry On Jatta is loosely based on the 1989 Malayalam movie Chakkikotha Chankaran.

Carry On Jatta 3 is the 3rd installment of the franchise, scheduled to be released in cinemas on 29 June 2023. The first film of this franchise was Carry On Jatta (2012), and the second film was Carry On Jatta 2 (2018).

Gippy Grewal as Jass, Binnu Dhillon as Goldy Dhillon, Jaswinder Bhalla as Advocate Dhillon, and Gurpreet Ghuggi as Honey reprise their roles from Carry On Jatta (2012). However, Jass is a tenant and not the son of Jaswinder Bhalla in Carry On Jatta 2.

Budget and Box Office

The tentative budget of Carry On Jatta was Rs. 12 Crore. The film did exceptionally well commercially and earned approximately Rs. 57.67 Crore at the Worldwide Box Office. The film also became the Second Highest Grossing Punjabi Movie of all time.

Movie Plot

Jass (Gippy Grewal) is an orphaned young man who lives in the rented house of Advocate Dhillon (Jaswinder Bhalla). He dreams of going to Canada and marrying an NRI girl. However, He does not fulfill the requisite criteria on educational grounds.

Honey (Gurpreet Ghuggi) is the best friend of Jass. Honey works as a mediator in a marriage agency. Jass asks Honey to find a suitable NRI girl for him.

Twist in the story

Jass accompanies Honey to an NRI marriage where he sees Meet (Sonam Bajwa) and immediately falls for her. Meet is an orphan like Jass and lives alone. Thus, she wants to be married to a boy with a big family.

Jass starts stalking Meet and soon expresses his love to her. Honey and Jass makes Meet believe Jass has a large family. Soon Meet asks Jass to introduce her to his family. However, Jass keeps on procrastination on the pretext of one or another.

When Meets insists on meeting his family, Jass hatches a plan and introduces her to Advocate Dhillo to Meet as his father. On the other hand, he tells Advocate Dhillon that Meet is the wife of Goldy. The situation becomes confusing, but Jass somehow manages to gets marry Meet.

After marriage, Jass asks Meet to settle in Canada. However, Meet is not ready to lose the company of a good family she always misses. Jass hatches another plan so that Meet starts hating his fake family. However, circumstances compel him to abscond with Meet.

On the other side, Advocate Dhillon thinks Jass has run with his daughter-in-law (Goldi's wife). He starts following the couple, which creates another hilarious situation.
