Durgamati (2020) is a Bollywood Horror Thriller Film. The film is streaming on OTT platform Amazon Prime from 11 December 2020.
The film is a remake of Anushka Shetty starrer Telugu language movie Bhaagamathie (2018). G. Ashok written and directed the film who has written and directed Durgamati (2020).
Akshay Kumar along with Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Vikram Malhotra has produced the film. Bhumi Pednekar, Arshad Warsi and Jisshu Sengupta have played pivotal roles in the film.
To know the secrets of a dead honest Political leader (Arshad Warsi), Police secretly interrogate a under trial culprit of murder Chanchal (Bhumi Pednekar) who used to be an IAS officer and secretary for Ishwar Prasd for 10 years.
Since official interrogation from Chanchal lead to complicacy, police decide to house arrest her in a haunted fort. A number of unusual and unexpected horror events occurred in the haunted fort that lead to a mysterious revenge story.

A politically powerful man wants to uproot his opponent Ishwar Prasad (Arshad Warsi) who is a dead honest politician. Public support him from the bottom ho their hearts. His rival politician wants Ishwar Prasas as his puppet. He asks the police commission to find out the hidden secrets of Ishwar Prasad.
On the other hand, Police want to solve mysterious stealing of grave images from various temples. CBI Joint Commission doubts involvement of Ishwar Prasad in the stealing of grave images because his presence is always visible wherever these stealing happened.
The CBI Joints Commissioner plans to interrogate an under trial culprit of murder Chanchal (Bhumi Pednekar) who used to be an IAS officer and secretary for Ishwar Prasd for 10 years. However, it seems not feasible to interrogate Chanchal in the prison because she was an IAS and the interrogation could lead legal complicacy.
ACP Rohan (Jisshu Sengupta) who has appointed to find the thieves of Grave Images is directed to find a suitable place for keeping Chanchal as House Arrest. ACP Rohan finds a Haunted Fort for the very purpose. The Fort is presently being used for Police Training camp.
Chanchal is house arrested and two police officers remain there to keep a vigil eye on her. CCTV cameras are also implanted to keep watching each activity of Chanchal.
Soon a number of unusual and unexpected horror events occurred in the haunted fort. Chanchal behaves wild and tells the psychiatric that he was a queen who was betrayed by her Commander and proved her a mentally sick girl.
Due to this torture, she committed suicide and now she wants to take revenge from that commander. The psychiatric as tells Chanchal and the commander must have died now. However, Chanchal declares that he is still alive.
The Psychiatric still believes that Chanchal is facing some mental disorder problems. However, this is not the truth.
Jakes Bejoy has composed Background Score for the film. Tanishk Bagchi, Malini Awasthi, Naman Adhikari and Abhinav Sharma have composed music for the film.
