Mrs.Chatterjee vs. Norway is a Hindi (Bollywood) Drama film. The film was scheduled for theatrical release on 20 May 2022. However, the film was postponed and rescheduled for 3 March 2023. The release date got postponed again, and finally, the film was released on 17 March 2023.
Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway is the story of the painful journey of an Indian Couple settled in Norway and a battle between a mother and an entire country. The film takes inspiration from a true story.
Monisha Advani, Nikkhil Advani, and Madhu Bhojwani are the producers of Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway. Ashima Chibber is the director of Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway. She has worked as Assistant Director in films like Chak De India (2007), Kites (2010), and Rockstar (2011). She has also written the Screenplay of Mere Dad Ki Maruti (2013).

An Indian Couple, Debika Chatterjee (Rani Mukerji) and Anirudh Chatterjee (Anirban Bhattacharya) have shifted and settled in Norway. They live happily with their two kids, Shubh (Yuvaan Vanvari) and Shuchi.
Everything goes well until the Norway Child Welfare Services (CWS) confiscates their children. The CWS stated that there was negligence on the part of the mother. The CWS also alleges an emotional disconnection between the mother and the kids. The incident happened in May 2011.
The CWS keeps the children in foster care forcefully, and as per the rule, they had to stay there until they turned 18. The most painful thing is that the parents were not allowed to see their children.
The couple pleaded before the Indian authorities seeking their children back home. And the painful journey of Sagarika started to get custody of their children.
Indian government intervened in the matter. However, the case stretched for two long years because of several issues like cultural differences, racism, mental health in women and children, etc.
