Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is an upcoming Bollywood Biographical Film expected to be released on 1 APril 2022.
The preproduction work was initiated in 2018 and the teaser was launched in late 2018.
R. Madhvan has portrayed the titular character of Nambi Narayanan and has directed the film. He has also co-produced the film, played the lead role, and has written the film with Sukhmani Sadana.
This would be the directorial debut of Madhavan and his second movie as a producer after Saala Khadoos (2016). Vijay Moolan and Varghese Moolan are the other co-producers.
Shah Rukh Khan and Suriya will play cameo in the film.
Based on the existence of former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan who was falsely charged for being a spy and captured in 1994.
The investigation agency CBI dismissed all charges against him in the year 1996. In 1998 the apex Supreme Court of India finds him not guilty.
In 2018 Supreme Court ordered the Government of Kerala to give Rs. 50,00,000 as compensation amount. However, the Kerala Government, considering the depth of the case awarded 1.30 Crore to Narayanan. He was also awarded Padma Bhushan, the third Highest Civilian Award, in 2019.
Even though free, he is yet battling for equity, with those police authorities asserted to have dishonestly embroiled him, actually free.
