About Film: Apna Desh

Apna Desh (1972) is a Bollywood Drama Movie released on May 26, 1972 and became the 3rd highest grosser Bollywood Movie of the year. Apna Desh is a remake of Telugu Movie Kathanayakudu starring N. T. Ramarao which is remade in Tamil Language as Nam Naadu (1969) starring M.G. Ramachandran. M. Jayalalithaa is a part of both Tamil and Telugu version of the movies.

Movie Plot:  Akash (Rajesh Khanna) is happily lives with his family consisting of his equally honest Brother and his Wife and their two children.  Akash works in Municipal Corporation but due to his honest behavior he was started knocking in the eyes of other corrupt officials  and they framed him for corruption charges and his Brother was also trapped the web of deceits and sent to jail. Now Akash has to prove him and his brother innocent and also has to find out the real culprit(s).
