Love In Tokyo (1966) is a Musical Romantic Bollywood Movie released on 13 September, 1966 (India). The movie was produced and directed by Pramod Chakravorty. Story and Screenplay of the The movie was written by Sachin Bhowmik. Mehmood was nominated for Filmfare Best Performance in a Comic Role.

Love In Tokyo became a Box Office Hit by earning Rs. 3.5 Crores approximately (Worldwide) and also became the 5th Highest Grossing Bollywood Movie of 1966 after Phool Aur Patthar, Suraj, Mera Saaya and Teesri Manzil.

Love In Tokyo (1966) was a musical hit also and songs like Sayonara Sayonar, Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye Humdum, O Mere Shah-E-Khuban and Koi Matwala Aaya Mere Dware, all sung by Lata Mangeshkar became very popular. Others songs like Aa Ja Re Aa Zara Aa, Love in Tokyo (Title Track) and O Mere Shah-E-Khuban (Male Version) were sung by Mohammed Rafi were also become very popular and some of them are still find their place in the Hindi Filmy Songs. All songs were composed by Musical Duo Shankar-Jaikishan and lyrics were penned by Hasrat Jaipuri.

Love In Tokyo (1966) Movie Plot: Gayetri Devi’s elder son married to a Japanese girl without formal approval of his mother. Gayatri Devi wants his Grandson back to India and hence she sends his younger Son Ashok (Joy Mukherjee) to Japan. Ashok meets Asha (Asha Parekh) in Tokyo and both fall in love with each other. However, Asha’s Unlce (Madan Puri) wants her married to with Pran (Pran) and makes her captive in home.

Asha, somehow, manages to flee with Ashok in a car followed by Pran. This cat and mouse chase becomes worse when Ashok gets injured and hurt his eyes and might lose the same. However, they both come to India. But destiny wants to play with them here also as Gayatri wants his Son to marry Sarita (Lata Bose), moreover Asha has to think over to make alliance with a blind person.
