Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is a Bollywood Romantic Comedy film released on 10 December 2021.
Abhishek Kapoor has written and directed Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui. Bhushan Kumar and Pragya Kapoor have produced the film.
Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor are there in the lead roles. Leena Sharma, Bikram Malati, Col Ravi Sharma, Aarav Dua, Anav Dua, and Abhishek Bajaj have played supporting roles in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui.
Ayushmaan Khurrana is famous for his choice of films. He does mainstream films, which convey a social problem. That is perhaps why general people like his films very much.
Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is also about a social problem. This time the concern revolves around a transwoman.
Manu (Ayushmann Khurrana) is the owner of a gym. He is also an enthusiastic young man who participates in the local bodybuilding championship.
Manu focuses on bodybuilding and always remains busy making a well-shaped body. His focus gets diverted when the newly appointed Jhoomba trainer Maanvi Brar (Vaani Kapoor) enters the gym.
They spend quality time, and soon the sparks of love make them into a passionate relationship. However, Maanvi is a transwoman. What happens when Manu comes to know the truth is the crux of the story.
The film touches on a sensitive social issue. Most of us do not have any idea or information about the problem. In general, we Indians do not talk about these social problems. Hats off to those who dare to bring such issues in front of us.
Ayushmaan Khurrana has become a brand ambassador for social issues taboo for general people. The Chandigarh Boy has set another landmark with his acting talent in the Romantic Comedy Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui.
Abhishek Kapoor has done good work. He quickly comes to the point without much ado.
He first introduced Manvinder Munjal, aka Manu (Ayushmaan Khurrana), his background, and his initial disbelief.
The director then presents Maanvi and reveals her past slowly ad subtly. He has taken care of the expression of Manu while he discovers something strange about his love interest.
Abhishek Kapoor has also added light comedy moments which keeps engaging the audiences.
In general, we all would react in the same way, without thinking much about it. People never give a deep thought to a social problem and its possible solution. Our mind is generally full of disbelief, and we beat around the bush all the time. The same happens with Manu in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui. Ayushmaan matches his character exceptionally well.
Vaani Kapoor is a surprise package here. She has too matched up with her character and shown her acting skills.
Vaani and Aayushmaan look good on screen, and their onscreen chemistry is over the top.
Goutam Sharma and Gourav Sharma have played twin friends of Manu. Their comic time is fantastic, and they look hilarious.
Anjan Srivastav, Kanwaljit Singh, Tanya Abrol, and Girish Dhamija have all lent good support with their acting skills.
Music composed by Sachin-Jigar is not an extraordinary one yet leaves an impact on us. Vayu, I. P. Singh, and Priya Sariya have written the lyrics. All songs except the Holi songs are according to the film theme.
Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is for youngsters. Families might find it awkward watching hot romantic scenes of Aayush and Vaani. However, the film is a good romantic entertainer that leaves a social message too.
Bollywood Product rates the film 6.5 out of 10.
