Sadak (1991) is a Romantic Thriller Bollywood Movie released on 20 December 1991. Mahesh Bhatt produced and directed the movie. Robin Bhatt wrote the screenplay of the movie.

Due to good story, good acting especially by Sanjay Dutt and unforgettable romantic songs composed by musical duo Nadeem-Shravan Sadak (1991) got commercial success. The film earned 11.7 Crores (Worldwise) against a Budget of Rs. 3 Crores. Sadak also became one of the top 10 Highest Grossing Bollywood Movies of 1991 after Saajan, Hum, Saudagar, Phool Aur Kaante and Sanam Bewafa.

Sadak (1991) Movie Plot

Ravi (Sunjay Dutt) becomes traumatize after the death of his sister Roopa (Soni Razdan). Soni was in love but her lover paved her the way of a brothel where eventually diagnosed STD (Sexually Transmitted Infections). 

Ravi meets Pooja (Pooja Bhatt) who helps him to recover from his condition. They soon fall in love and Ravi stars driving taxi for his livelihood.  One-day Ravi meets Inspector Irani (Pankaj Dheer) who appears to be an honest Police Office whose became headlines of the news recently and got a medal too. Ravi refuses to take money from him and Irani assures him to help whenever in need.

In the meantime, the men of Maharani (Sadashiv Amrapurkar) capture Pooja. Maharai runs a brothel where many girls are compelled to work even without their consent. Pooja meets Chanda (Neelima Azeem) who loves Gotya (Deepak Tijori), best friend of Ravi.

Pooja tries to escape from the brothel and comes across Ravi but Maharani’s good takes Pooja back to brothel. Ravi recites the incidents to his taxi owner Salim Bhai (Avtar Gill) who helps him to hire Pooja for one night. Ravi plans to hire Pooja every night to save her dignity. However, his plan shatters when Maharani finds something fishy and refuses to take Pooja every night. 

Ravi stabs Maharani and runs away. Gotya helps him and brings Chanda with him and they got married too with the blessings of Ravi and Pooja. Thereafter, all four take shelter of Salim Bhai. 

Ravi decides to take help of Police Office Irani and calls him accordingly. Irani wants to meet all four and asks to gather at a secret place. However, when they reach at the place they find Maharini’s goon there to kill them meaning thereby a betrayal from Inspector Irani.

In a failed attempt to escape Gotya and Chanda are shot. Ravi, however, somehow manages to get way in the police jeep. However, the henchmen of Maharani, who is still alive, caught them and Pooja returns to the brothel. Henchmen tortures Ravi brutally and left for dead. Has Pooja would received the same fortune as of Roopa.
