It appears that now days it has become fashion to make a remake. Dhamaka is also a remake of film The Terror Live (2014). However, The Terror Live is a South Korean film and not an American or South Indian Film, which seems most obvious choice for making Bollywood remake.
Ram Madhvani has directed the film who earlier the film Neerja in 2016. He however, directed Arya, a web series, 2020.
Ronnie Screwvala, Amita Madvani and the director Ram Madhvani have produced the film under the banner RSVP Movies. Puneet Sharma has written the script of the film.
Kartik Aaryan, Mrunal Thakur, Amruta Sushash, Vikas Kumar and Vishwajeet Pradhan are there in the film in pivotal roles.
Arjun Pathak (Kartik Aaryan) is a TV reporter. However, he is sacked from his job and this makes him very disappointed. He wants to back on camera by hook or by crook.
Soon he gets a call from a telephonic call from a terrorist who informs him of a bomb threat. The incident gives Arjun another opportunity to be before tv camera. He is allowed to go live on a tv show as desired by the terrorist among one of his conditions.
Much to his dismay that this call will completely change him and toss him into a round of double-crossing.
Director Ram Madhvani get consent from Kartik Aaryan for this action flick. Kartik has never done an action film before and this is the first time when he plays beyond his comic genre.
The film was announced on 22 November 2020 on the day when Kartik celebrates his birthday. Film shooting initiated on 14 December 2020 in Mumbai and the shooting completes on 24 December 2020. Thus, the entire shooting schedule was completed in merely 10 days.
