DSP - Film 2022

DSP [expanded form: Deputy Superintendent of Police] is the Tamil language Action film released on 22 December 2022. The Hindi dubbed version of DSP is available on the OTT platform Netflix.

Cast

Vijay Sethupathi and Prabhakar play the lead roles in DSP. Anukreethy Vas plays the female lead role, whereas Shivani Narayanan, Deepa Shankar, Pugazh, Ilavarasu, and Linga play pivotal roles in DSP.

Movie Plot

Vasco da Gama (Vijay Sethupathi) lives happily with his family, consisting of his father (Ilavarasu), mother, younger sister Sumathi, and younger brother (Pugazh). The family runs a wholesale flower business.

Chandru (Linga) is a good friend of Vasco da Gama and loves Sumathi. Vasco da Gama and other family members agree to marry Sumathi and Chandru. In the meantime, Vasco da Gama falls for Annapoorani (Anukreethy Vas), the daughter of a sweets shop owner.

On the day of marriage, four friends of Vasco da Gama visits the city and indulge in a fight with the goons of a local gangster Mutta Ravi (Baida Ravi in the Hindi version), played by Prabhakar.

Vasco da Gama reaches out to help his friends and beats Baida Ravi, which enrages Baida Ravi. Vasco da Gama has to go underground because his father advises him to do so. However, Baida Ravi thrashes Vasco da Gama's father and vows to kill his son.

After a few years, Vasco da Gama becomes a DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) and revisits his city, whereas Baida Ravi or Mutta Ravi (Prabhakar) becomes an MLA.
