Main Balwaan - Hindi Film 1986

Main Balwan is a Hindi (Bollywood) film released on 28 November 1986. The tentative budget for the film was 1.66 Crore INR. The film did well commercially and earned approximately 7.66 Crore INR at the Worldwide Box Office. Main Balwan was the sixth (6th) Highest Grossing Hindi Movie of 1986.

Movie Plot

Inspector Harish Chandra Chowdhary (Dharmendra) is an honest and upright police officer who lives happily with his marriageable sister Geeta (Rita Bhaduri).

Geeta loves Anil (Suresh Oberoi), the son of Heera (Raza Murad). Heera is a jewel thief and wants his son Anil to continue his legacy. However, Anil refuses to be a thief.

Anil brings Geeta home to meet her with his father. Heera vehemently denies accepting Geeta as his daughter-in-law and says abusive words to Geeta. Anil marries Geeta and leaves his father's house forever.

Geeta and Anil visit Chowdhary's (Dharmendra) house to take his blessing. However, Chowdhary rejects the collaboration out of anger. Geeta and Anil start living in a rented house.

After a few months, Geeta becomes pregnant, but Anil has no money. He decided to ask for money from his father. Heera becomes ready to give money to his son with the condition that he will never return to his wife and become a thief like him.

In the meantime, the house owner throws Geeta out of the rented house because of non-payment of house rent. Chowdhay asks his sister to live with him, but Geeta wants to stay there for her husband.

Anil becomes a thief but dies while Chowdhary shoots him without knowing his identity. On the other hand, Geeta leaves the hospital after giving birth to a baby boy Tony. She leaves a letter for her brother (Dharmendra) and requests not to tell Tony that his father (Suresh Oberoi) was a thief. Police Inspector Balsara (Ram Mohan) informs Chowdhary that Geeta dies in a car accident.

The story moves to a few years ahead when the grown-up Tony (Mithun Chakraborty) is a college student. He is a good dancer and lives with his maternal uncle Chowdhary (Dharmendra).

Tony loves Natasha (Meenakshi Sheshadri), the daughter of City Police Commissioner Ajay Basu (Utpal Dutt). However, she does not live with her father because of the difference in their ideology.

Tony takes advantage of his uncle's honesty and extracts money from local shopkeepers and illegal alcohol vendors. Ajay Basu learns about Tony and sends him to jail.

Inspector Chowdhary is now Assistant Commissioner of Police. He discusses a plan to catch Heera and proposes a duplicate Heera to steal the Kohinoor Diamond, which is presently available in India. Chowdhary and Commissioner believe that the original Heera (Raza Murad) will come out to meet the duplicate Heera (Mithun Chakraborty).

Chowdhary starts giving training Tony in Jail without letting him know about the plan, which irritates Tony. Heera meets Tony in Jail as an accused. He tries to manipulate Tony against Chowdhary.

After releasing from jail, Commissioner meets Tony and tells him about the plan. Tony realizes his mistake and agrees to become a duplicate Heera and steal the Kohinoor. However, Inspector Balhara shoots Tony while he tries to steal the Kohinoor.

One of Heera's men helps Tony to escape from the Police. After a few days when Tony recovers from the bullet wound. Heera (Raza Murad) meets Tony and informs him Inspector Chowdhary is the murderer of his father (Suresh Oberoi). Heera also brings Geeta (Rita Bhaduri), the mother of Tony, who is still alive with an unstable mind.

Tony contests Inspector Chowdhary and asks why he killed his father. Tony also trashes his maternal uncle and breaks up their relationship.
