Teesri Manzil - Hindi Film 1966

Teesri Manzil is an Indian Hindi-language ( Musical Thriller and Murder Mystery ) film released in cinemas on 07 January 1966.

Teesri Manzil was directed by Vijay Anand but exceptional in way that this was not made under Navketan Banners.  It became a Box Office Hit by earning Rs. 4 Crores approximately (Worldwide) and also became the 4th Highest Grossing Bollywood Movie of 1966 after Phool Aur Patthar, Suraj and Mera Saaya.

Teesri Manzil (1966) was a musical blockbuster also and songs like Aaja Aja Main Hoon Pyar Tera, Deewana Mujhsa Nahi, O Hasina Zulfon Wali, O Mere Sona Re, Tumne Mujhe Dekha and Dekhiye Sahibon were become very popular at that time. Some of these are still very popular. These songs were composed by newcomer Music Director R.D.Burman who later composed music for all Nasir Hussain movies till Zabardast (1985). All Lyrics were written by Majrooh Sultanpuri.  All songs were sung by Mohammed Rafi. Asha Bhosle became the co-singer wherever female voice was required. 

Teesri Manzil (1966) Movie Plot

In a Hotel devastated Roopa (Sabina) knocks the door of Rocky (Shammi Kapoor), who works as a Drummer in the same hotel. Sabina requests him to let her in, however, later she falls down from the third floor (Teesri Manzil) of the same hotel. The death was considered suicide by the local police.  

After one year Roopa’s sister Sunita (Asha Parekh) visits Dekhradun to take revenge of death of her sister from Rocky as she believes Rocky responsible for the suicide of her sister. In her way to Dekhradun she meets with Anil alias Rocky (Shammi Kapoor) who comes to know her target and hide his identity. Rocky start flirting with Sunita who eventually falls in love with him. He pretends to be nephew of a rich person Kunwar Sahab (Prem Nath) who was not in the town. However, when Kunwar returns he cover up his lies and becomes friend with him. Later Rocky writes a letter to Sunita explain everything and pleaded him not guilty for her sister’s death. Sunita was shocked to know the reality and breaks up with him. Soon some twists come in the movie which eventually reveals that Sabina was murdered. Who is the killer is rest of the story.
