Adipurush is a Hindi (Bollywood) Adventure film released on 16 June 2023. However, the film had its world premiere Tribeca Festival, in New York, on 13 June 2023. The film was released in Indian and other international markets on 16 June 2023.
Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior fame Om Raut is director of the film. The film is being shot in Hindi and Telugu simultaneously. However, the film is being dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada too and will be released on the same day with its Hindi and Telugu version.
Film Adipurush depicts the Yuddha Kanda in Ramayana. Lord Rama alias Raghav (Prabhas) gets banished from Ayodhya for 14 years. Lord Rama's wife, Seeta alias Janaki (Kriti Sanon), and Lakshmana alias Shesh (Sunny Singh), the younger brother of Lord Rama, accompany Lord Rama in exile.
Ravana (Saif Ali Khan), the king of Lanka, abducts Seetha using his magical powers. Lord Rama and Lakshmana start a journey to find Seeta. The two brothers meet Bajrang (Devdatte Nage), who helps them find Seeta.
The rest of the film depicts how Lord Rama knows about Seeta and brings her back after winning over King Ravana.
