Movie Plot

Kannamma (Urvashi), who is affectionately referred to as Appatha, is dearly cherished by those around her.

Appatha trades in pickles and employs many people, providing livelihoods to numerous families. She is dedicated to her business and works hard to support her family.

Son's Ambitions:

However, Appatha's son (Amit Bhargav), who has grown up witnessing the pickle trade, does not share the same passion for the pickle business. He aspires to pursue higher education and finds an opportunity to study in Chennai. After completing his studies, he secures a job and marries a woman from the northern region. They decide to settle in Chennai.

Grandson's Arrival:

In Chennai, Appatha's son and daughter-in-law welcome a son, bringing joy to the family. With the arrival of her grandson, Appatha goes to Chennai to help take care of him while her son and daughter-in-law focus on their careers.

Unexpected Encounter:

During her stay in Chennai, Appatha is surprised to discover that her son and his family are going on a tour, leaving her to after their pet dog. Initially reluctant, she ends up developing a strong bond with the dog.

Food Festival Surprise:

While in Chennai, Appatha attends a food festival in the apartment complex where her son lives. To her delight, she wins a prize of Rs 5 lakh for her exquisite pickle recipes.

Conflict and Reconciliation:

When her son returns from the tour, he becomes upset, witnessing his house is in disarray due to an incident involving Appatha and the dog. He scolds Appatha, leading to her decision to return to the village.

Recognition and Family Reunion:

Back in the village, Appatha resumes her pickle business. Her dedication and good intentions are recognized, and she is honored with the prestigious Padma Shri award.

Her son decides to join her in the family business, having understood the value of his mother's actions. It strengthens their bond once again.
