Plot Summary of Hindi Film Baazi (1968)

Baazi [meaning Bet] is a Hindi (Bollywood) Suspense Thriller film released on 1 November 1968. There is one more movie named Baazi (1984), featuring Dharmendra in the lead role.

Movie Plot

Ajay (Dharmendra) is an honest and upright police officer. One day he witnesses a girl Elizabeth Da Silva aka Liz, rashly driving a car. Ajay stops her and asks for her driving license. It is how they meet for the first time.

Liz is a money-minded girl and wants a lot of money. However, she is frustrated with his miser uncle Mr. D'Silva who is the trusty of her property.

Ajay and Liz soon fall in love with each other and makes an engagement. After two days, Liz telephonically informs Ajay that her uncle is no more. She also asks Ajay to visit her uncle's place.

When Ajay reaches Liz's Uncle's house, a Doctor (Nisar Ahmad Ansari) shows him the dead body of Mr. D'Silva and informs him that Liz is unconscious.

Ajay goes to a nearby Church and meets Father Gonsalves (Nasir Hussain). Ajay requests him to make arrangements for the last rights of Mr. D'Silva. Father Gonsalves is also new there, so he hires people from the nearby village for help.

Ajay finds a man, Ramesh (Manmohan), crying silently during the burial of Mr. D'Silva. Ajay learns that Ramesh is an alcoholic who lives with his wife Maya (Chand Usmani), and Mr. D'Silva used to help Ramesh.

Ajay brings Liz to his home. However, he becomes suspicious about Liz because she seems in a hurry to occupy her father's inheritance. Ajay also learns that accordingly to the Will, Liz can get the inherited property in case of her marriage or her uncle's death (her guardian).

Uncle D'Silva has left an insurance policy of Rs. 2.5 Lakh. Ajay becomes a witness of the death of Mr. D'Silva and signs as a witness. Since he is a police officer, it becomes easy for Liz to get her father's property and insurance amount.

Twist in the story

A man (Nazir Kashmiri) visits the police station and informs that his elder son Prakash (Amar) is missing. Ajay (Dharmendra) is shocked to see the photo of Prakash because Prakash resembles the dead Mr. Disilva. Ajay shows the picture of Prakash to Liz, who refuses to recognize him as her uncle.

The police dig the grave to verify the identity of the dead man. However, surprisingly the coffin is empty. Ajay meets Father Gonsalves (Nasir Hussain) without any fruitful result. On the same day, Father Gonsalves is kidnapped.

Soon Ramesh (Manmohan) and his wife Maya (Chand Usmani) are killed, and Liz becomes the prime suspect.

Who is the dead man? If it is Prakash (Amar), where is Mr. D'Silva? Is Liz the culprit? Who is the killer of Prakash, Ramesh, and Maya? Film Baazi (1968) replies to all these queries.

Baazi (1995) is an Action Bollywood Movie released on April 05, 1995. The movie was directed by Ashutosh Gowariker who later directed  Lagaan (2001), his Second and last collaboration with Amir Khan till date. 

Movie Plot: An honest Police Office Amar Damjee (Amir Khan) has to stop terrorist activities single handedly. He has also to safe Vishwas Rao Choudhary (Raza Murad), the Chief Minister of State the hidden assassinations.

Movie Plot

Durga Prasad (Madan Puri) is a wealthy person who lives in a village with his wife (Sulochana Latkar). He wants his son Ajay (Dharmendra) to take over his business. However, Ajay wants to serve the nation and eradicate crime forever. He thus joins the police force for the very purpose. Ajay starts living in the city with his wife, Asha (Rekha), and two kids (Master Rajeev and Baby Geeta).

The village chairman (Pinchoo Kapoor) is a friend of Durga Prasad (Madan Puri) and thus treats Ajay like his son. The chairman pretends to be a good man. However, he runs a criminal racket in the city with the help of Rocky (Shakti Kapoor) and Teja (Dalip Tahil). Shankar (Gurbachan Singh) and (Mac Mohan) also work for the chairman.

Ajay becomes a headache for the chairman. Rocky wants to kill Ajay, but the chairman advises avoiding a direct collision with the police department. However, they make a heinous plan to get rid of Ajay. They plan an attack on Ajay's son, but Ajay somehow manages to save his son.

After the attack on her son Asha (Rekha) gets worried about her family. She requests the police commissioner-cum-uncle (Satyen Kapoor) to do something to save her.

Later Ajay finds the attacker and beats him badly. However, Rocky and his goons further beat the attacker to die. Police Commissioner asks Ajay to leave the police job, or he has to face criminal action against him. In this way, he finds a way out to the request of Asha.

Ajay returns to his hometown and joins his father's business. Albert (Jalal Agha) meets Ajay after a very long time, and they go to a casino run by Rocky. Ajay realizes cheating in the casino and indulges in a fight. However, Rocky's henchmen beat Ajay brutally and kill Albert. Ajay now wants to punish the killers of Albert.

Rocky sees a poor but robust man Salim Khan (Minthun Chakraborty), who works in the farms of Ajay. Salim loves Noora (Ranjeeta Kaur), who runs a Dhaba (small restaurant).

Rocky impresses with Salim's strength and hires him as a henchman. Now Salim is standing between Rocky and Ajay. What happens next is the rest of the story of Baazi (1984).
