Najma (Smita Patil) leave separately from her parents for last six y years as her mother forced her to sell herself in order to earn money. Nazma runs away with Akhtar Hussain (Bharat Kapoor) who used to visit her regularly with hope to marry him. However, Akhtar’s parents wants him to marry some rich one. In order to marry Najma he requires some fund to start his own business and Shakir Khan (B .L. Chopra) supposed to help him who is returning from Gulf next day and will stay with Najma.
Salim (Naseeruddin Shah) loves Najma for last six years and express his desire to get marry with her even after knowing her past. But Najma refused him.
Sanju (Farookh Sheikh) loves Shabnam (Supriya Pathak). Shakir Khan see her after coming from Gulf and wish to marry her. Inspite of the very long age gap Shabnam’s parents agree to get her married with Shakir by taking Rs. 5000+.
How, the lives of each and every person changes in the scenario is rest of the story.
