Beta (1992) is a Drama Bollywood Movie released on 03 April, 1992. The movie was produced by Ashok Thakariya and Indra Kumar who also directed the movie starring Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Aruna Irani in lead roles.
Beta (1992) proved Blockbuster on Box Office by earning Rs. 24 Crores approx (Worldwide) and became the Highest Grossing Bollywood Movie of 1992 followed by Deewana, Khuda Gawah, Shola Aur Shabnam and Tahalka.
Beta (1992) was nominated against nine categories in 38th Filmfare Awards and won in five categories i.e. Best Actor-Anil Kapoor, Best Actress-Madhuri Dixit, Best Supporting Actress-Aruna Irani, Best Female Singer-Anuradha Paudhwal for Dhak Dhak Karne Laga and Best Choreographer-Saroj Khan for the same song.
Movie Plot: Yogesh Verma (Akash Khurana) is a very rich man but has lost his wife. He remarries with Laxmi Devi (Aruna Irani) for the sake of his young son Raju (Anil Kapoor) without knowing the hidden agenda of Laxmi who overpowers him after marriage and makes him mentally incapable.
Raju becomes very fond of his mother and obeys her blindly. Her mother makes him remain uneducated for the sake of the entire property. Problem arises when Raju is married to his love interest Saraswati (Madhuri Dixit) who stats having doubts over the intentions of her Mother-In-Law. She tries to make Raju understand the circumstances but he denies hearing anything against his mother. Sarawati then decides to fight against Laxmi single handedly and to protect meek Raju from her evil hands.
A game of Cat & Mouse begins and Sarawati starts defeating Laxmi in her own game. As the time goes Saraswati becomes pregnant and Laxmi then decides to kill so that there would be no successor to the entire wealth except his real son. She mix Saffron with Poison in milk and gives it to Saraswati who comes to know about the poison. She explains everything to Raju who still believes that his mother is innocent and takes the entre mill, full of poison, to Saraswati wrong.
