Plot Summary of Hindi Film Dil Tera Aashiq (1993)

Movie Plot

Thakur Ranvir Singh Chaudhary (Anupam Kher) is a wealthy and influential person in his town. He deeply loves his sister Radha. When she marries a poor man against his wish, he becomes furious and never forgives Radha.

However, when Radha dies, leaving behind her three children, Vijay (Salman Khan), Bittu, and Gudiya, Thakur, who is still a bachelor, takes the responsibility of the three on his shoulders. Since Bittu and Gudiya are kids, Thakur wants an experienced governess for the kids.

A hilarious twist in the story

Soniya (Madhuri Dixit) is a young girl who lives with her ailing mother and needs money to support her mother. She poses as elderly Savitri Devi to secure the job of governess.

In addition to earning extra money, she starts working part-time as a dance instructor in the school where Vijay (Salman Khan) works as a teacher.

Romance blossom

Soon, Vijay and Soniya fall in love. On the other hand, Thakur develops feelings for Savitri Devi (Madhuri Dixit in masquerade). He seeks the help of his friend Naseeb Kumar (Kader Khan) to win the heart of Savitri Devi.

A game of old Riverly

Long ago, Thakur compelled Pratap Singh (Tej Sapru) to shut down his factory. Pratap Singh now forces Thakur to sign some papers so that he can reopen the factory. However, Thakur is not ready to sign the papers.

Pratap Singh learns the secret of Soniya. He asks Soniya to get the signature of Thakur on the papers, or he will disclose his true identity before the Thakur. Since Soniya does not want to lose her job, she accepts the deal.

On the other hand, Pratap anonymously calls Thakur and discloses the true identity of Soniya. He misguided Thakur that Soniya wants his money, and Vijay is also a part of the game. 

Pratap then makes an anonymous phone call to Thakur and tells him about Sonia's secret and how Vijay and Kumar are in on it.

Thakur finds the papers Pratap gave to Soniya and believes that Vijay and Soniya are playing a game with him. Thakur then throws them out of the house without giving them a chance to explain.
