Shamsher Pathania, an aspiring young man, fulfills his lifelong dream of joining the Indian Air Force. As he faces rigorous personal challenges, Shamsher must rise above his limitations to be a true hero of the Indian Armed Forces.
Later Shamsher struggles to cope with his past. He is then assigned to train a young woman (Deepika Padukone) to become a fighter pilot.
The duo takes on a mission to save the nation. In the meantime, both help each other to overcome challenges.
