Character Dynamics

An economically weaker school bus driver, Pritam (Mithun Chakraborty), miserably lives with his three sons, Madhav (Arshad Warsi), Laxman (Kunal Khemu), and Lucky (Tusshar Kapoor), a mute.

The three grown-up sons do nothing except roam around here and there. Madhav dominates the two, Laxman is an idiotic poet, and Lucky is an innocent mute.

The trio encounters another Laxman (Shreyas Talpade), Gopal (Ajay Devgn), and Daboo (Kareena Kapoor) and indulge in a verbal fight. They become two rival groups and want to turn down each other whenever they find an opportunity.

Gopal and Laxman (Shreyas Talpade) are brothers and live with their mother, Geeta (Ratna Pathak). Gopal is a hot-headed young man who often breaks a finger if someone points a finger toward him. On the other hand, Laxman (Shreyas Talpade) stammers while talking.

Dabbo is the working partner of the duo and loves Gopal, who also loves her but never shows it.

Pappi's Theft and Hidden Secrets

A petty thief, Pappi (Johnny Lever), steals the neckless of a queen. However, when Inspector Dandey (Murali Sharma) and his assistant Gandhari (Vijay Patkar) follow Pappi, he hides the neckless in Pritam's (Mithun Chakraborty) suitcase.

Pappi has short-term memory loss. Thus, when his assistants Daga (Sanjay Mishra) and Teja (Vrajesh) ask about the necklace, Pappi forgets where he hid the queen's necklace.

Pappi Bhai (Johnny Lever) also sponsors Madhav (Arshad Warsi) and the group for starting their failed business. Madhav has also taken loans from various money lenders, who often threaten him and his father, Pritam (Mithun Chakraborty), with dire consequences. The money lenders want either to pay the debt or to leave the house they live in.

On the other hand, Gopal has also taken an unsecured loan from a local goon, Vasooli Bhai (Mukesh Tiwari). Whenever Vasooli asks for his money, Chintu (Ashwini Kalsekar) requests him to give him some time. Vasooli likes Chintu and always agrees with her.

Revealing the Past

Gopal and Madhav group always indulge in verbal fights and inadvertently start the same business with the help of Vasooli and Pappi, respectively. However, filled with mayhem, both groups try to take down each other's businesses but fail hilariously.

After one such incident, Madhav, Laxman (Kunal Khemu), and Lucky ask their father to teach Gopal and Laxman (Shreyas Talpade) a lesson. Pritam (Mithun Chakraborty) visits Gopal's house and witnesses Geeta (Ratna Pathak), the mother of Gopal and Laxman (Kunal Khemu). Geeta is none other than the college-time lover of Pritam.

Leaning upon her daughter's relationship with a poor man, Prem Chopra offers Pritam Rs. 5 lahks and asks him to leave her daughter. When Pritam refuses, Prem Chopra asks him to earn Rs. 5 lahks to marry Geeta.

Pritam starts working hard for money. However, when Pritam returns with the money, he does not find the whereabouts of Geeta.

It also reveals that Gopal (Ajay Devgn) and Laxman (Shreyas Talpade) are the son of the deceased Shambu Kaka (Viju Khote), who used to be the domestic help in Geeta's house, and Geeta has never married.

Pritam also shockingly reveals that Madhav (Arshad Warsi), Laxman (Kunal Khemu), and Lucky (Tusshar Kapoor) are orphans. Pritam is also unmarried until now.

Dabbu (Kareena Kapoor) overhears their conversion but promises never to let their respective children know they are orphans.

Rivalry and Reconciliation

Since there is rivalry between Madhav and Gopal group, Daboo hides some vital information and manages to get Gopal and Madhav's group ready for the marriage of their respective parent.

After the wedding, Gopal and Madhav understand the truth, and their rivalry becomes more intense.

However, circumstances compel Pritam and his sons to shift into the house of Geeta, where they have to stay with Gopal (Ajay Devgnn) and Laxman (Shreyas Talpade).

On the day of her birthday, Daboo asks everyone to watch a movie in a cinema hall. A money lender visits with their goons and asks Madhav to return his money. A fight ensues, and everyone becomes a part of the fight. Geeta gets injured during the mess.

Heartfelt Moments and Unveiled Secrets

Seeing his mother injured, the hot-headed Gopal loses control and breaks relations with Pritam and his sons. Pritam and Geeta become devastated, and Daboo tries to console them. She asks them to disclose the secret that the five brothers are orphans. Geeta and Pritam ask her not to tell the truth.

However, the mute Lucky (Tusshar Kapoor) overhears the truth and informs everyone. They get shocked and heartfelt for the sacrifice of their parents and decide to live in peace without letting their parents know that they know they are orphans.

Shifting Relationships

The five brothers now open a toy store with the financial support of Vasooli Bhai (Mukesh Tiwari) and Pappi Bhai (Johnny Lever). While inaugurating the shop, Pappi Bhai eventually remembers that he hid the priceless necklace in the suitcase of Pritam.
